At the Computex trade show in Taiwan, Asus has announced another new ultra thin laptop, called Asus UX21 laptop. The UX21 is looking to beat their biggest competitors in the ultraportable market, Samsung 9 series and Apple MacBook Air with offer lower on the price scale. The 11.6 inch MacBook Air starting at $999 while the Samsung Series 9 has price tag at $1,159 and the UX21 notebook is expected selling for $899.

Asus UX21 Specifications

Asus UX21 ultra thin laptop will be comes with more powerful processors than MacBook Air with features Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 with a 11.6-inch widescreen and 1,366×768 resolution. The UX21 ultra thin notebook comes with light aluminum alloy shell with different anodized shades for the base and lid. The machine also sporting Chiclet-style metal keyboard and glass touchpad with two mouse buttons, ATA 6Gb/s SSD drives, USB 3.0 connectivity, DisplayPort, and HDMI out and battery life will be very impressive and will have an “up to 7-hour battery”.

Asus UX21 Release Date

The new UX21 11.6 inch laptop also will be packs with built-in SD card readers, headphones out and Storage comes in SSD varieties: 64GB or 128GB. Asus UX21 laptop measures 17mm at its thickest point and weighing just only 2.4 pounds and support Intel’s Rapid Start technology can resume from sleep in around two seconds. There is no informations about release date, but the UX21 is expected will be launch in September this year.
